About the Merge PDF

Merge PDF combines several PDF files into one document. Drag your files in, put them in the order you want, optionally choose which pages to keep from each file (for example 1-3, 5), and download the merged PDF. It runs in your browser, so your PDFs are never uploaded to a server.

How to use the Merge PDF

  1. Drag your PDF files in or click Choose PDFs (up to 30 files and 150 MB in total).
  2. Put the files in order with the arrow buttons. To use only some pages of a file, type them in its pages box, such as 1-3, 5.
  3. Click Merge PDFs to build and download the combined file.

Why merge PDFs

Many portals, banks and offices ask for one PDF instead of several. Combining an application form, ID proof and certificates into a single file keeps everything together, in order and easier to send.

Choosing pages

Pages count from 1. A range such as 2-4 means pages 2, 3 and 4, and 7- means page 7 to the end. You can repeat a page or list pages in any order, for example 3, 1, 2.

Before you rely on it

Open the merged file and flip through it once to confirm the order and that nothing is missing. Form fields, bookmarks and links inside the original files may not be kept after merging. If a website has an upload size limit, check the size shown after merging.

Frequently asked questions about the Merge PDF

How do I merge PDF files?

Add your PDF files, arrange them in the order you want with the arrow buttons and click Merge PDFs. The combined PDF downloads straight away.

Are my PDFs uploaded to a server?

No. The merge happens entirely in your browser, so your contracts, certificates and other private documents never leave your device. Nothing is stored on our servers, and closing the page clears the files from memory.

Can I merge only some pages of a PDF?

Yes. Each file has a pages box. Type page numbers or ranges such as 1-3, 5 or 4- (page 4 to the end). Leave it empty to use every page. Pages are used in the order you type them.

Can I change the order of the files?

Yes. Use the up and down arrows beside each file to move it. The merged PDF follows the list from top to bottom, so check the order before you press Merge. You can also choose which pages of each file to include.

Can I merge a password-protected PDF?

Not directly. A PDF that needs a password to open cannot be read, so the page tells you which file was skipped. Remove the password in the app that created it and add the file again.

Is there a limit on the number or size of files?

You can add up to 30 files and 150 MB in total, because your browser has to hold them in memory. For bigger jobs, merge in two steps and then merge the results.
