How to use the Split PDF

Drag your PDF in or click Choose PDF (up to 150 MB and 2,000 pages).
Pick what you want to do, then type the pages if needed, for example 1-3, 5.
Click Split PDF. A single result downloads straight away; several files can be downloaded one by one or all as a ZIP.

Which option should I use

Use Extract pages to pull a few pages out into one file, and Remove pages to delete a few and keep the rest. Use Split by ranges when you want several named chunks, such as chapters, and One file per page when each page must be sent on its own.

Typing page numbers

Pages count from 1. A range such as 2-4 means pages 2, 3 and 4, and 7- means page 7 to the end. In Extract mode you can list pages in any order, for example 3, 1, 2.

Before you rely on it

Open a new file and flip through it once to confirm the right pages are there. Form fields, bookmarks and links in the original may not be kept. If a website has an upload size limit, check the size shown next to each file.

How do I split a PDF into separate files?

How do I extract pages from a PDF?

Choose Extract pages, type the pages you want such as 2-4, 8 and click Split PDF. You get one new PDF with only those pages, in the order you typed them.

How do I delete pages from a PDF?

Choose Remove pages, type the pages to delete such as 2, 5-6 and click Split PDF. The new PDF keeps every other page. Your original file is not changed.

Is my PDF uploaded to a server?

No. Splitting happens entirely in your browser, so your contracts, certificates and other private documents never leave your device. Nothing is stored on our servers, and closing the page clears the file from memory.

Can I split a password-protected PDF?

Not directly. A PDF that needs a password to open cannot be read, so the page tells you. Remove the password in the app that created it and add the file again.

Is there a limit on file size or pages?

You can use a PDF up to 150 MB and 2,000 pages, and a split can make up to 200 files, because your browser has to hold the file in memory.
