SEO proposal checklist

Before you read the price

• The proposal lists what will be done every month, not just "SEO services".
• It names who you will speak to and who will work on your website.
• It starts with an audit and a report on your site before any content or link work.
• It says how and how often you will be reported to (monthly is normal), using data you can check yourself, such as Google Search Console.

The price

• You know what the monthly price includes: audit, keywords, content, on-page fixes, page speed and tracking.
• Anything not included is written down, for example paid ads, new website pages or hosting.
• The market range for a small local business in Bengaluru is about ₹15,000 to ₹40,000 a month. A price far below that needs a clear explanation of what is left out.
• The minimum contract is stated. Results usually take three to six months, so a contract shorter than that is a reason to ask why.

Warning signs

• A promise of "first page in 30 days" or a guaranteed position. Nobody outside Google controls rankings.
• Bulk link packages, such as "500 backlinks" or "high authority links at a fixed price". These can harm your site.
• Pressure to pay in full before you have a written scope.

If you stop

• You keep your content, your accounts and your analytics if you leave.
• The notice period and any final payment are written down.

Bring this to your first call: Your website address, your main services in order of profit, the areas you serve, how many leads you get now, two or three competitors you worry about, and examples of sites you like.
